Prototype design concept that would reflect the state-of-art medical care.

Mecklenburg Medical Associates asked for an innovative, prototype design concept that would reflect the state-of-art medical care this practice was about to embark upon. Intended to capture the technology-based care being developed by the practice, RdM Architecture created a dynamic ‘tech’ like space with an industrial aesthetic exposing structure, HVAC ductwork, and electrical conduit is woven together with an upbeat colorful blend of materials and finishes. The practice now provides technical instructional group sessions to patients allowing more connectivity and regular, more consistent interaction with their care providers through the use of a patient’s mobile devices.

  • Created central group instructional space designed for flexibility and multiple furniture arrangements
  • Audio/video systems were integrated with ceiling and wall design features
  • Spaces include offices, private teaching space, storage, coffee station and restroom
  • Clear anodized aluminum, metal and translucent glass were used to maximize limited natural light and compliment the industrial aesthetic.
